Herring Motorcycle Ride

This is a tour for motorcycles that can be done individually or in groups, using a clear route description. Participants in this ride can register at the market in Biervliet from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Participation costs €7 per motorcyclist, with duo €9 incl. consumption. The total route will be approximately 180 kilometers.

Underground walk Stenen Beer Sluis

The Stone Bear in Sluis is a monumental ruin from the 15th century, which consists of the former remains of the West Gate. The gate played an important role in sieges of Sluis. Below the ruin are three impressive vaulted cellars, which are connected by passageways and a stair tower. They served as a casemate to defend the fortifications, as a residence for soldiers and for the storage of weapons, ammunition and provisions.
The cellars have been closed to the public for a long time. It is unique that they can now be viewed, but under strict conditions due to their monument status and the presence of bats. Only in groups (maximum 10 pp.), led by a guide.

It is a “slow” walk along the most beautiful walking paths of the Eekloose waterway. Along the way we listen to a poem and enjoy the silence and spring. The walk ends around 11:30 am with soup and baguette.

Bunker tour

During the Bunker Tour of approximately one hour, a guide tells how 250 German soldiers worked and lived in this place during the war. A number of bunkers can be admired from the inside. Take a flashlight with you, because that will complete the discovery tour!

In the shop (in African style) there are various ostrich products on display and for sale. There are the beautifully shiny eggs that serve excellently as decoration. A delicious liqueur (a kind of eggnog) is also prepared from the eggs, which is of course available and can be tasted. Traditionally, there is also the now well-known ostrich cake with coffee.
